JOB ANNOUNCEMENT

Youth Resource Development Program (YRDP) was formally initiated in October 1992 and legally registered with the Ministry of the Interior (MoI) in 1999 in the field of civic and peace education, and youth empowerment. The main goal of YRDP is to empower youth to become active responsible citizens with a better quality of life through taking concrete initiative actions and motivating others to promote sustainable peace, justice, and promotion of democratic society.

Currently, we are seeking for national candidates to fulfill the vacant positions below:

  1. Project Officer for Youth Networking for Enhancing Social Transparency. This position is expected to start as soon as possible with a salary between USD568.00 to USD 633.00.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop working approaches for youth mobilization so that they can exercise their civic rights;
  • Develop or/and review activity plan, budget plan, budget projection, and monitor implementation of the project activities;
  • Coordinate/facilitate training related to leadership, public speaking, mobilizing and organizing skills etc.;
  • Closely monitor implementation against agreed plan and budgeting, ensuring deliverable outputs are on a budget, on time, and within scope;
  • Work with youth from across the target of the project sites, engaging them in the YRDP’s activities and networking activities;
  • Write a report of the project, activity reports and other types of reports as may require;
  • Support in reporting (quarterly, semester, and annual reports and other required by funding partners), proposal, and concept notes developments;
  • Work with M&E Program Point person to ensure data tracking and reporting are accurately performed and are on a timely basis;
  • Ensure all financial transactions, settlements, and budget management are properly performed; 
  • Join activities of other programs of YRDP when needed;
  • Maintain good relationships with donors, partners, and other like-minded partners for a joint synergy effort; and
  • Perform other tasks as requested by the Program Manager & ED.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline of Social Work, Laws, Economics, Management, Environment, Political Science, International Relations, and other related fields;
  • At least 2 years of experience in a relevant field, especially working with youth;
  • Proven experience coordinating networks and/or mobilizing youth to participate in social action for positive social change;
  • At least 3 years of experience in program/project management, budgeting, and human resource management;
  • Be able to travel and overnight stay in the provinces;
  • Strong English writing and speaking skills;
  • Advanced computer (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Database and research skills are a plus);
  • Demonstrate strong team spirit with high motivation to work with youth and diversified teamwork; and
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Program Assistant for Youth Investment for Employment and Leadership Development Program. This position is expected to start as soon as possible with a salary between USD 368.00 to USD 412.00.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Support Project Officer to organize youth forum, dialogue and trainings that promote better access to Social Protection and Labor rights,
  • Mobilize youth (especially working youth in agri-food sector) for participation in program activities;
  • Identify and form youth groups;
  • Facilitate and monitor volunteers to work on promotion of descent/living wage and labor rights;
  • Produce activity report and partly assist in writing mid-term and annual reports for the program;
  • Assist program in preparing cash advance and settlement for activities implementation;
  • Coordinate logistics and other administrative works for smooth program implementations; and
  • Perform other tasks as/may assign by Program Manager and ED,

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in economics, business administration, social work, law or related field,
  • One years of work experience in relevant field as mentioned above;
  • Experience working in food services sector is highly preferred;
  • Experience in coordinating networks and/or mobilizing youth for social development activities;
  • Good communication both Khmer and English;
  • Good English writing and speaking skills;
  • Strong interpersonal skills and passion to work with youth;
  • Well organized and able to meet deadlines;
  • Ability to work independently and as a team;
  • Able to work on weekend and holidays with frequent travels to target provinces; and
  • Computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet, etc.).
  • Project Assistant for Democratic Citizenship Education for Youth. This position is expected to start as soon as possible with a salary between USD 368.00 to USD 412.00.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Mobilize youth to attend the training/workshop and other activities of the project,
  •   Facilitate exposure trips for young social activists to impacted communities;
  • Assist logistically with the EYEs program manager in conducting Democratic Governance and Active Citizenship courses in Phnom Penh and other provinces;
  • Assist the program staff to find the key youth for radio talks-shows and online shows;  
  •  Participate actively in technical meetings of the project and program;
  •  Prepare the budget and settlement cash advance for implementing activities;
  • Write training/activity reports in Khmer or English.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • BA in a related field such as Human Rights, Law, International Relations, Psychology, Sociology, Economics, and Environment
  • At least one-year experience working with NGOs as a full-time staff or volunteer
  • Good teamwork and highly motivated to work directly with university youth
  • Excellent communication and critical thinking skills
  • Willingness to question and change one’s own ideas and habits
  • Good at interpersonal skills: Communication, problem-solving, facilitation, time and task management with high morale, and good characteristics
  • Good at writing and speaking both English and Khmer.
